Nathan will be running an 'open ticket', where he will encourage you to:

• vote 1 for Nathan, to ensure he gets your vote
• number the other candidates in the order you believe will best represent your values. 

Nathan won't be doing any preference deals with other candidates. (This is where candidates agree to preference each other highly on their how-to-vote cards, often without telling the voter they've made a deal.) 

While you may receive how-to-vote cards from different candidates and parties, it is ultimately up to you how you order your preferences. This way, every vote really does count.
