You can apply directly to the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) for a postal vote here. Applications for postal votes for the 2025 federal election are now open, and it is recommended that you apply as soon as possible.

You may also receive a postal vote application from a political party or other organisation. Political parties and other organisations are allowed to send postal vote applications to households, however you don’t have to use the postal vote application sent to you by a political party or other organisation. You can directly apply for a postal vote through the AEC by the link above.

If you decide to use the form sent to you, the party/organisation must forward your form to the AEC for processing, however you should be aware that by returning the form to the party/organisation, you are providing them with your personal information.
