As an Independent, I will put our community first and not be beholden to party politics or ideological agendas. The major parties are increasingly captured by extreme views and vested interests but as your Independent representative, my only loyalty will be to the people of Moore. I'll bring people together to find practical solutions that work for our community.
If elected, I’ll be voting on around 140 pieces of legislation each year. So, I want you to know my values and how I’ll apply them across the board to decide how to vote on behalf of the people of Moore.
My approach will be guided by what I’m hearing from the Moore community, including the top 4 issues identified by Voices of Moore’s Community Listening Report:
- Cost of living
- Housing and rental affordability
- Integrity in politics
- Climate change and energy transition
Right now, I’m keen to get out and have conversations with the people of Moore to better understand what matters to them. As we get closer to the election, I will provide more detail on where I stand on specific issues.
When deciding whether to support legislation or not, I have three clear principles:
Genuine community engagement
I will support Bills that demonstrate an appropriate level of community engagement. We need to properly understand the underlying issues at a structural level, rather than applying band-aids that don't solve the issue long-term.
Evidence-based
I will support Bills that demonstrate a sensible evidence-based approach, backed by relevant experts and science, rather than ideological positions.
Real solutions
I will support Bills that will achieve their stated goals, not just a short-term political fix to win votes.
My experience in the military, mental health and business gives me a unique perspective on leadership and problem-solving. I value both strength and compassion, both practical solutions and human needs.
