Politics in the Park - It's a Wrap

Nathan Barton held the last of a series of fifteen Politics in the Park events on Saturday at Charonia Park, in Mullaloo.

These events, known amongst the team as "PiPs", have been running since early February, and have provided an invaluable opportunity for Nathan to meet the people of Moore, answer any questions they may have, and hear about the issues that matter to them. We've met many friendly and passionate Moore people, many of whom have gone on to join the volunteer team, and we've appreciated the beautiful parks we have on offer.

Key themes have been around cost of living and housing affordability, with many people concerned whether their children will ever be able to own their own homes. People have frequently expressed dissatification with the two major parties and their lack of vision in addressing these issues.

Questions have been varied, sometimes direct, and people have been open and honest in sharing their experiences and views. Many locals came to a PiP after receiving a flyer promoting the event and were glad to be given the opportunity to speak to Nathan face to face.

Thanks to our local volunteers who provided cakes and snacks at several of the PiPs.

We will be holding a final Politics in the Cafe at Whitford City on Sunday 27 April. Details here.
